Problem:
The brief was to redesign Hilaire Belloc's 'Cautionary Tales for Children' for an adult audience. My primary role was to create illustrations that would be included inside the book.
Insight:
As the audience for the book was adults, we tried to focus on making the illustrations and layout minimalistic in style and colour.
Solution:
The chosen theme that we decided on was a modern take on a medical journal. Each poem would be a case file detailing the patient and their 'illness'.
Design process
To begin the design process I read through each of the selected poems and began to annotate and write down potential ideas for the illustrations. This allowed me to start sketching potential illustrations that could be developed as the project progressed and the style was confirmed.

I really enjoyed the collaborative nature of working in a group because my other team members came up with ideas for the project that I hadn't considered, as a result, the end product was more successful.

Illustrations
My contribution to the project consisted of a series of illustrations that were used both for the book sleeve and on the inside pages. The illustrations were made using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
