Posters for UNICEF highlighting the issue of Early and Forced Marriage (EFM) in Bangladesh
Problem:
Bangladesh has the third highest prevalence of child marriage in the world, and the second highest absolute number of women married or in a union before the age of 18 globally – 4,382,000. In total 59% of girls in Bangladesh are married before their 18th birthday and 22% are married before the age of 15.
Insight:
Young girls being forced into Marriage often struggle to stand against those forcing them into marriage.
Solution:
These posters target adults in positions to help victims of EFM such as doctors, teachers, social workers and the police. The posters encourage them to report any signs of EFM to the helpline set up by UNICEF in Bangladesh.
